धारा 504 — जहां छह मास के भीतर कोई दावेदार हाजिर नहीं होता है वहां प्रक्रिया

504. (1) यदि धारा 503 में निर्दिष्ट छह मास की अवधि के भीतर कोई व्यक्ति ऐसी संपत्ति पर अपना दावा स्थापित नहीं करता है, और यदि ऐसी संपत्ति के कब्जे में रहने वाला व्यक्ति यह दर्शित करने में असमर्थ है कि वह उसके द्वारा विधिपूर्वक अर्जित की गई थी, तो मजिस्ट्रेट आदेश द्वारा यह निदेश दे सकता है कि ऐसी संपत्ति राज्य सरकार के व्ययाधीन हो, और वह उस सरकार द्वारा विक्रय की जा सकती है या अन्यथा व्ययित की जा सकती है जैसा वह ठीक समझे।

(2) ऐसे किसी आदेश से उस न्यायालय में अपील होगी जिसमें मजिस्ट्रेट की दोषसिद्धियों से साधारणतया अपीलें होती हैं।

Section 504 — Procedure where no claimant appears within six months (English)

504. (1) If no person within the period of six months referred to in section 503 establishes his claim to such property, and if the person in possession of such property is unable to show that it was legally acquired by him, the Magistrate may by order direct that such property shall be at the disposal of the State Government and may be sold by that Government or otherwise disposed of as it deems fit.

(2) An appeal shall lie against any such order to the Court to which appeals ordinarily lie from convictions by the Magistrate.
